Even though I had read this book few months ago, it is still quite clear to me about the details of the book. It is about a girl named Adeline, who had a wealthy family, but yet had a awful childhood. When she was born, her mother died, that is when her family starts to think that she brings bad luck to the family. And just when you think things can't get any worst, her father soon remarries. Adeline's stepmother was like the ruler in the house, she is always throwing negative remarks about Adeline and her siblings while she is always doing the opposite to Adeline's stepbrothers and stepsisters. However, Adeline still didn't give up, she continued doing what she can so that she could gain the love that she had always yearned for, it just suprises me that someone so young already knows a lot about the community,  where it is falling into a moral regression fueled by greed. What I like the most about Adeline is how she is able to hold back all her grudges and yet so nice to her family members. While reading this book, it had made me feel better about my family and life when the day was bitter cold. I did not knew that there are parents who would hate and despise their children for almost no reason. If you are considering whether it is worth to spend your time reading, I would strongly encourage you to do so as the details were so clearly elaborated that you can feel yourself inside the story as well. It just makes me feel myself being one of those lucky people to have a loving family. Ever since I finished the book, I learned that i must cherish the people around me and had always tried to know my friends and families better since then. If you do read this book, be mentally prepared as your reaction to this story might be much more dramatic then mine.
